What is Hierarchical DataGridView?
Hierarchical DataGridView is powerful, full-featured grid. It offers the user new
possibilities for viewing, editing, formatting and organizing data.
This control has all the possibilities of the Microsoft DataGridView control, but
also gives the additional possibility of viewing the hierarchical data in a flexible
and fully adjustable way.
What are the system requirements for correct installation of Hierarchical DataGridView?
System requirements are identical with those needed for installation of Microsoft
Visual Studio 2005 package.
Does Hierarchical DataGridView work only with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 package?
Hierarchical DataGridView is a component used, in design-time, exclusively inside
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008 package. Apart from that, the
component can also be used for applications developing within Visual Basic, Visual
C++, Visual C#, as well as within Visual Studio Express Editions package.
Hierarchical DataGridView needs only Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or .Net Framework
3.5 to run properly in run-time environment, i.e. within some application.
Should we place “HierarchicalDataGridView.dll” in GAC (Global Assembly Cache) on
the target machine?
That is entirely up to you. You can place it in either GAC or in the application
execution folder, whichever you prefer.
Do we need to recompile our application if you provide us with quick fix or new
version of Hierarchical DataGridView?
Quick fix and new product versions come with different assembly and file versions
and therefore you should recompile your application. If you can not or do not want
to do that, you can always specify application of machine configuration file which
redirects binding to a new version of the assembly (See MSDN "Redirecting Assembly
Versions" article).
Do we need to rebuild our application when we purchase full license?
In order to upgrade Hierarchical DataGridView control from trial version to FULL
version you should rebuild your application.
Can I receive technical support during my trial evaluation period?
Yes, you can. Free email support through our tech support team is available to handle
any questions you may have during your trial period. To distinguish yourself as
an evaluation customer, please bypass the request for a Reference number when registering
yourself.
What programming language is the source code written in?
Source code for all our .NET components is written in C#, in VS 2005.
Does the license file that unlocks the Hierarchical DataGridView have to be deployed
with our application?
You do not have to deploy license file with your application. If your application
uses Hierarchical DataGridView control, when you purchase license, you must rebuild
your application and that's all – license (license file) is, during the application
build process, integrated with your application (to be precise, it is integrated
with Hierarchical DataGridView control) and therefore it is not required for you
to have license file deployed with your application.
How many copies should I purchase?
You need to purchase one copy of the component per developer on the project, regardless
of whether he is using the component directly or not. In other words, each developer
who needs to use our component in design mode must have his own license. You can
also buy enterprise license which grants a license to an organization for the use
of an unlimited number of developers in an unlimited number of custom applications.
I have lost the setup with the FULL license, received after the purchase of Hierarchical
DataGridView control. What should I do?
If you still have e-mail that you received after purchasing Hierarchical DataGridView,
you can find the link in that e-mail, which you can click to download the file containing
the FULL license.
If you cannot find e-mail with that link, please send us your reference number (if
you can find it) together with other information that you have used during the purchase
(first name, last name, your company, address, e-mail and similar) on the following
address: sales@applicationaspect.com
How can I get help if I am using Hierarchical DataGridView?
You can get unlimited technical support by visiting our Support Center section.
How many licenses do I need?
Number of licenses is equal to number of developers. For example, if five developers
are working on an application that uses our component, you will need five licenses.
If you are buying enterprise license, then you can use it for an unlimited number
of developers in an unlimited number of custom applications.
What is the price of Hierarchical DataGridView license?
The price of a Hierarchical DataGridView license is $130. You can find more information
on the
Purchase page.
What does one developer license cover?
Developer license grants a license for the use of a single developer in an unlimited
number of custom applications. You may install the software/component on more than
one computer as long as the software/component is used solely by the licensed developer.
You must purchase a separate license for each individual developer.
Do I need license for deployment?
No, you do not. Run-time for your end customers is royalty free.
What are redistribution requirements?
You can redistribute all files marked as “REDISTRIBUTABLE FILES” in product documentation.
However, your end customers must be informed that they should not distribute those
files further. Notice that every application using licensed components has run-time
license embedded into the application executable file. This means that if run-time
license is reverse engineered and pirated, either your end-customer (if he was informed
of redistribution requirements) or you (if you failed to inform him) will be legally
responsible.
Do you charge any run time royalties for your products?
There are no run time royalties charged for the Application Aspect products. End
user applications developed by using Application Aspect products can be distributed
further on and the customer is not charged any additional royalties when distributing
the executable.
Once other developers start using the product in design time, additional licenses
must be purchased.
